Star Engineering Joint Stock Company (SEC)
SEC is registered as a Joint Stock Company under the laws of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The company has been established in 2005 in Vung Tau City (Vietnam’s Oil & Gas hub) to service Vietnam’s rapid economic and industrial expansion. SEC serves and targets the Offshore Construction Companies in the Oil and Gas sector, Dredging companies and other related Maritime industries
SEC is primarily a Agency/Trading company specialized in facilitating and enabling business between Vietnamese State Owned Enterprises (SOE’s) or JOC’s and manufacturers of capital intensive goods from the industrialized world. The company currently has 25 staff members based in Vung Tau and Ho Chi Minh City and realized a turnover of 12 million USD in 2010
SEC Trading: With its young sourcing and trading team SEC supports OEM’s and trading houses to meet the strict tender requirements in Vietnam.

SEC Agency: Our agency activity focuses on long term exclusive commitments with international OEM’s that enable SEC staff to acquire in-depth knowledge of the products in order to advise the customers in Vietnam and act as the first line OEM support. SEC Industrial Services: Working for many years with our Vietnamese customers to increase the countries installed industrial base, we are recognizing a growing need for high quality Industrial Services, like maintenance, overhaul and service contracts, in the future.
With our roots in the industrial sector and our overseas network it is a logical next step up the value chain to provide Industrial Services up to international standard to support our Principals and other OEM’s with local service. SEC aims at providing the following Service products;
– Periodic maintenance, overhaul and repair of rotating equipment;
– Storage, rental and maintenance of offshore construction/dredging equipment;
– Assembly and testing of Process Modules;
– Provide an operating base for SEC principals and OEM’s in Vietnam.
SEC already has in-house experience in designing and implementing high voltage power grids for industrial facilities. In order to achieve this strategic goal SEC acquired a 5,000 m2 plot at Dong Xuyen Industrial zone in Vungtau city, Ba Ria province. Dong Xuyen is located three kilometers from VSP and PTSC port and is the location where a number of international ship building companies are based.
SEC Engineering: Historically most FEED studies and industrial design in the Oil & Gas and Maritime sector is done outside of Vietnam. However, with the localization of the energy sector and rapidly developing port facilities there is an increasing need to build up that expertise in Vietnam. In partnership with internationally renowned Engineering companies SEC is developing in-house expertise to service our customers with local engineering content and services.
Our main customers in the Oil & Gas sector are; Vietsovpetro (VSP), PV Gas, Dai Hung Petroleum Co., Petro Vietnam, PV Oil and PV Drilling. Main customers in the Dredging and Maritime sector are; VINAWACO and its subsidiaries, TICCO An Giang, etc.
