Transportation and installation for BK-TNG Topside & Living Quarter

On September 21st, SEC – BOSKALIS joint venture has successfully lifted and installed the topside of BK – Thien Ung platform weighing over 4,200 MT at Thien Ung field, Block 04-3, 270km offshore Vung Tau. The work was executed using heavy lift vessel “Asia Hercules III (AH III)” with lifting capacity of 5000 MT. Overall, this is the most important part of BK – Thien Ung platform construction project owned by PetroVietnam (PVN) and AO Zarubezhneft, operated by Vietsovpetro (VSP) as main contractor.

After the installation of BK – Thien Ung topside, SEC – BOSKALIS JV continued to successfully install the living quarter of 700 MT on September 24th.

With this remarkable accomplishment of BK – Thien Ung project, it is once again showing the steady development of SEC, strengthening company position, proving the capability of executing T&I projects and naming SEC as one of reputable, high quality service suppliers to Oil & Gas industry in the territory of Vietnam.

July 2014: SEC’s New Facility In Vung Tau Is Well On The Way To Completion.

SEC ‘s new facility in Vung Tau is now close to completion and will meet the planned completion date of end of 2014. In order for SEC to achieve the high standards sought for in the facility, international companies were contracted for the design, structural checks, the supply of capital equipment, and to work with reputable and experienced local contractors throughout the process.

Contractors include:
1) Architects: ADA French firm based in HCMC
2) Structural design, M & E Design and Structural Checks: Aurecon, an Australian company with offices worldwide.
3) Civil Contractors: TVT from HCMC, a local company experienced in industrial facilities.
4) M & E Contractors: TES from HCMC, a local company experienced in industrial facilities.
5) Crane Suppliers and Installers: DEMAG, German company with offices in HCMC and a leading supplier of cranes worldwide.
6) Metal Buildings done by: Bluescope Steel, a large Australian company with offices in HCMC.
7) Main workshop door: 11 x 11 meters. ASA Abloy / Mega Door, a world leader in door solutions from USA with offices in Singapore.

As seen from the street, SEC’s new offices and workshop are entering the final stages of construction. Mechanical and Electrical installations are more than 70 % complete and the Fit Out is about to start.

Approximately 1700 square meters of floor space, 2 DEMAG gantry cranes, each with 2 x 32 ton hoists, A back up generator with more than enough output to run the entire workshop thru a power cut, a state of the art fume extraction system with filters at welding stations, a large compressor with access points through out the work shop, a 11 meter x 11 front door to allow entry for very large pieces of equipment and a floor load bearing ability of 50-60 tons/ sq. mtr.

The workshop floor viewed for the top level of the rear offices. The 2 Demag gantry cranes can be seen as they have recently been installed and workers are finishing the final stages of the roof. It had been left incomplete to allow crane installation.

The new office building which will also include conference and training facilities.

SEC Base-Ground Breaking Ceremony

Saturday, 13th July 2013: The long awaited ground breaking ceremony took place for SEC Base in Dong Xuyen Industrial Zone, Vungtau. It was a beautiful sunny day and according to Vietnamese customs 5 Buddhist Monks were invited all the way from Thailand and Myanmar to give this project their blessing.

To mark this special occasion two tree were planted on both sides of the future entrance gate to the yard under the supervision of the Monks.

The new SEC base will offer 1600 m2 of office space and 1800 m2 covered workshop with 128 metric tons total lifting capacity and a heavy duty floor. The main entrance door to the workshop will be a whopping 11 meters wide and 10 meters high in order to allow fully assembled dredging equipment to be brought in.
Everything going to plan the facility will be commissioned middle of 2014.

Right after the ceremony was finished it started to rain, which can only be interpreted as a good omen. An update on the construction process will follow later this year.

SEC delivers IHC BEAVER® 5014C to LCC

SEC has recently delivered a STANDARD CUTTER SUCTION DREDGER – IHC BEAVER® 5014C to Lung Lo Construction Corporation (LCC).
The dredger was built by IHC Beaver Dredgers B.V. – a member of IHC Merwede group and the global market leader for efficient dredging & mining vessels and equipment.
IHC Beaver 5014C has total installed power of 1,091kW (1,484hp) with a submerged dredge pump mounted on the cutter ladder which gives higher output at higher dredging depth. The dredge pump is driven by 746 kW (1,015hp) Caterpillar engine via pivoting gearbox.
